Project Description

The China Electronics Corporation (CEC) Xianyang Rainbow G8.6 generation LCD panel project is currently the largest all-steel structure electronic industrial plant in China, with a construction area of 740,000 square meters. Its steel usage is 3.5 times that of the Bird's Nest. The SCEGC No. 11 Rainbow team helped the project achieve its main structure topping-out one month ahead of schedule, creating the "Xianyang Speed."

The project team completed 710,000 square meters of civil construction in 272 days, 310,000 square meters of cleanroom system construction in 60 days, and the installation of core and supporting equipment in 138 days. The ultra-large electronic factory has a high cleanroom level and high process control difficulty. The highest cleanroom level is 1000 times that of a standard operating room. The 217,000 square meter core area waffle slab concrete surface flatness requirement is 2mm/2m and achieves a fair-faced concrete effect.

These high-difficulty construction requirements are just a glimpse of the overall construction difficulty of the project. The project team established a leading group for creating excellence, organized technical personnel for scientific research and technological breakthroughs...The project team ultimately completed the pile foundation engineering 28 days ahead of schedule, achieved topping-out nearly one month ahead of schedule, and put the project into production two months ahead of schedule. The construction period was 60 days ahead of schedule, setting the fastest speed for similar projects in China. This project applied 10 new technologies in 10 major categories and 30 sub-categories in the construction industry (2010 version) and won the Shaanxi Provincial Construction Industry Innovation Technology Application Demonstration Project.
